How to Remove Hair Bumps From Pubic Area

I think there is quite a few of us who shave, wax or epilate down there. We all have different types of skin but obviously, bikini line is probably the most sensitive body part. Therefore, it’s usual to have hair bumps each time you remove them. I’d like to give a few tips for both ladies and men out there that would help to remove hair bumps from pubic area.

A Few Basic Things You Have to Do

Just before you start any treatments you need to know a few things. You don’t want to worsen your skin condition. Hence, you should have a few of those so to say ‘rules’ in mind whenever you notice ingrown hairs on your bikini area.

Don’t Shave, Epilate or Wax Your Pubic Area Anymore

Oh I know it’s so easy to just fall back into bad habits if you had had those, of course! Perhaps you’ve been waxing your bikini area, had a few bumps afterwards and then noticed that new hair is growing. How many of you have removed hair again afterwards? Come on, raise your hands! Well, you shouldn’t do it. Your skin is irritated enough, trust me on that! Once skin is irritated, you want to do whatever it takes to calm it down and soothe it. NOT THE OPPOSITE!

Apply Warm Compress to Affected Area

When it comes to soothing, nothing can do it better than a warm compress. I’d highly advise to use perhaps chamomile tea compress or just put warm teabags on the pubic area. Let them be there for a while. Make sure that it doesn’t itch. Usually, that’s a good indication that the tea is either too strong or too acidic for the skin.

Gently Exfoliate Your Skin and Keep It Clean

Before starting any treatments it’s essential to keep your skin clean and exfoliated. However, whenever you do indeed exfoliate, make sure not to use any chemicals but instead try the mechanical methods to do that. Be super soft. A good type of exfoliation could be using a loofah while in the shower. Buy one of the soft ones, they tend to be more tender with skin. And be gentle!

You May Want to Avoid Wearing Underwear at Home

Believe me or not but underwear can irritate your skin to the point that your bumps may start bleeding. It’s very important to give your skin some time to breathe. Therefore, whenever you’re at home, wear a long dress instead of pants and no underwear. I think you’ll enjoy the sense of freedom as well! 🙂

Pull Out the Hair Gently

Once you notice a hair growing out from the bump, remove it. Use clean tweezers and do it gently. Don’t dig into your skin. All in all, just try to cause the least damage possible since your skin needs to heal.

How to Remove Hair Bumps from Pubic Area

Here are some of the actual ways to treat hair bumps on pubic area. Most of the remedies are natural, however I did include a few quick ways to get rid of rashes in case of an emergency.

Use Hydrocortisone Cream

This medical cream reduces skin inflammation – any redness, irritation, itching or swelling. However, be careful. Once your hair bumps are gone, you can stop using it. Otherwise, this cream may cause rashes and irritations that you’ve wanted to cure! Please look through all the safety information before using this medication and check your allergies.

Use Retinoids

Retinoids help to remove dead skin cells that very often slow down the healing process. Unfortunately, they tend to dry out the skin, therefore you should use a moisturizing cream of some sort. Once again, there are side effects that you should have in mind. As always I just advise you to talk to your doctor before using the drug.

Natural Remedies to Treat Bumps

Here are some of the products that you could use from your kitchen to get rid of bumps on bikini line. You’ll be surprised by how many products you can use that are just in your cupboard. They do indeed do wonders to your skin!

Baking Soda Paste

For this one you’ll need baking soda, water and most importantly coconut oil. Mix all the ingredients until they form thick paste. Baking soda is a natural exfoliator. It basically removes dead skin cells and helps with overall healing process. Coconut oil has great flavor and beautiful moisturizing properties. Rub the paste into your skin with circular motions. Be gentle. Afterwards, wash it off with warm water. You’ll notice that your bikini line will become much softer. Repeat the procedure once a day until bumps are gone.

Aloe Vera

I’m a big fan of aloe vera due to its combination of anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties. I hope you have one at home. If you do, get a knife, cut the leaf off and squeeze out all the gel that’s inside. The magic is real. Apply the gel to the affected area and let it sit there for a while. Afterwards, wash it off. Obviously, not all of us grow aloe vera plants at home. In that case, it would probably make sense to buy aloe vera gel. Try to avoid ones with artificial colors.

Cucumber

Most of the cucumber’s mass is water. Cucumbers are great at soothing skin and alleviating skin redness. They also have anti-inflammatory and hydrating properties. In addition to that, they contain vitamins C and K that help to reduce itchiness. Slice a cucumber and put the pieces on your bikini line. I’m sure it will feel nice.
